POLAR PLUNGE

OYSTER ROASTS

Oyster roasts are celebrations of community and the bounty of the sea — two of South Carolina’s most enduring traits. Coast, Oceanfront Dining at The Sea Pines Resort is hosting this popular seasonal event with a special menu of fresh, local and roasted-on-site oysters from Maggioni Oyster Company on St. Helena Island.

Monday to Friday

Tours and Tastings at the Hilton Head Distillery, every hour, on the hour. Learn about the history of rum, the story behind the company and the intricate details of the distillation process. Tasting Flights are offered throughout the day on a first-come, first-served basis and include a souvenir shot glass for $5 per person. HILTON HEAD ORCHESTRA WINTER SERIES

January 21-22: Enjoy “Grieg and Brahms” as the HHSO welcomes back Zhonghua Wei, winner of the 2023 Hilton Head Island Piano Competition, to perform the Grieg piano concerto, one of the most popular in the entire genre.


February 4-5: Enjoy “Bach, Mozart and Brandon Leonard”. Leonard returns to the HHSO stage after winning the Gold Medal at the Sphinx Competition, Junior Division in 2023. Vinay Parameswaran will be the guest conductor, who recently concluded five seasons with the Cleveland Orchestra.


February 18-19: The most critically acclaimed composer of our time, John Williams has won 25 GRAMMYS and 5 Oscars, with a total of 53 Academy Award nominations to his credit. The HHSO celebrates his birthday in style with some of his most endearing and enduring scores, including music from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and the Raiders film franchises.

HILTON HEAD SNOW DAY

January 27 11 AM - 4 PM

This family event will have inflatable rides, a snowfield and entertainment. For the kids who have never seen snow, this is the perfect event! 11 a.m.-4 p.m. $10 for ages 2-17 and adults are free. FENCES … PLAY

January 31- February 24

Fences is on stage at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. Set in Pittsburgh in the 1950s, Fences depicts the life of Troy Maxon, a former Negro League baseball star now scraping by as a sanitation worker. A towering figure facing thwarted aspirations, Troy attempts to assert control over his wife and son, who now wants his own chance to play ball. Fences explores the walls we build around ourselves and our loved ones, while also illuminating one family’s struggles during this era. 14 Shelter Cove Ln. HILTON HEAD ISLAND GULLAH CELEBRATION 

February 1-March 2

Since 1996, the Hilton Head Island Gullah Celebration showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Gullah people and their history on Hilton Head Island. MIXOLOGY MONDAY

February 5, 6pm, Atlantic Room at the Sea Pines Beach Club

This mixology class will be hosted by Broad Creek Spirits. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served to pair with the cocktails during the evening. Cocktails will feature different spirits including Gin, Mezcal, and Dessert Chocolate Whiskey! All guests will receive a recipe sheet and barware set to take home, learn to make and enjoy three cocktails, and enjoy food and tips from our resident mixologist, Margi Georgopulos.
